I am Jake Hibbert, a 2D compositor from Escape Studios. I am passionate about the film industry mostly, but also would love to try the other mediums. I would like to start a career in VFX, as a means to connect with people on multiple levels. Nothing is more important to me than making my work realistic and believable, whether that be through VFX or even writing. I feel as if the VFX industry is the way forward for telling stories and I would like to share my ideas with the world.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB TO START YOUR CAREER WITH?
I would like to start as a roto/prep artist, as this is will allow me to learn the pipeline from an industry perspective. As well as improve my abilities within compositing as a whole. Roto/prep is just what I would need to kick start my career in the VFX industry.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN FIVE WORDS OR LESS.
Passionate, Friendly, Understanding, and Willing.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
One of my hobbies is playing video games, where I have improved my ability to communicate with team mates in multiple instances. Such as Raids, where comms are especially important to ensure the completion of that task.
WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE?
My background and my passion are two of the things that make me unique. My passion for telling stories is something I have been developing since I could write, giving me a deep understanding of how to tell a story. I also have a background in acting, singing, and dancing within the television, and even theatre, industry, so I have a unique outlook in many situations.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS TIME?
I see myself as making my way up the VFX pipeline, becoming a VFX supervisor for a company. To do this I will need some experience working at the lower levels of production so
I fully understand what their workflow is. I would like to become a VFX supervisor as it is a great opportunity to be able to have full control over your ideas.
DESCRIBE YOUR DREAM JOB.
My dream job is one of becoming a writer/director. To make me stand out I would like a large background in visual effects so I know exactly what I want from my surrealist works. I say writer/director as I have tried my hand at it before, and found it to be constant process that always challenged me.
WHAT MOVIE INSPIRED YOU THE MOST TO CHOOSE THIS
Definitely has to be James Cameron's Avatar. I'm still looking forward to the sequels coming out. Avatar was ahead of it's time in terms of visual effects. It showed me that it was
possible to tell large and complex stories using VFX, which brought everything to life and made the world feel real. It's a big inspiration for me, even bleeding over into screenwriting.
IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would like to be entrenched in the world of Treasure Planet from Disney. While being an animated film, it still included CGI (or deep canvas) which helped bring Long John Silver
and the R.L.S. Legacy to life. Just the idea of sailing on a boat in the etherium (basically breathable space) always gets my imagination roaring.
WHY DO YOU DESERVE A GREATER SHARE OF SPACE IN THE YEAR BOOK?
I feel as if my ideas, skills, and passion give me the ability to think with an open mind and in a unique way. My ideas themselves are surrealist, but the challenge in bringing them to life has always been at the forefront of my mind.
