MARTIN
KAMMINGA
Born in the Netherlands, I have always been fascinated by art and ’the look of things’. As a teenager, I dabbled in graphic design and eventually turned towards CGI. When I turned 20, I decided I wanted to pursue my passion overseas. I moved to London to start pursuing my career as a 3D artist. I believe that successful projects come from working efficiently with fast and honest communication. I take joy in using my skills to visualise my own ideas or visions of the people that I work with.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB TO START YOUR CAREER WITH?
My dream job would be to work as a Lighting/Texture/LookDev Artist.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Apart from CGI, my hobbies include going to the gym, running and photography.
WHAT THREE THINGS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND?
A pregnant cow, a water filter and my girlfriend.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS?
In five years time, I would love to work as a mid/senior artist, either in texturing/lookdev, or as a generalist. By this time, I would like to have had work experience in both commercials and movies.
TELL US AN ACHIEVEMENT YOU ARE PROUD OF.
I once ran for 35 miles in one go in Eastbourne. I really enjoy going the distance with many things and I like to think I apply that same philosophy to my work as well.
WOULD YOU RATHER BE A WIZARD, JEDI OR SUPERHERO? AND WHY?
I would rather be a wizard, because I don't like fighting.
WHICH MOVIE INSPIRED YOU THE MOST TO CHOOSE THIS CAREER PATH?
Mostly sci-fi movies such as Star Wars and Interstallar. However I am more intrigued by CGI in TV commercials since almost no one realizes they are actually watching CGI.
