Hi! My name is Milan; I am a student at Escape Studios focusing on the Art of Digital Compositing. My passion for VFX derives from years of studying and practicing traditional art forms including: biro pen realism, pencil realism, painting and complex origami folding! After studying graphic design and visual effects my work has evolved into the digital realm with my main focus revolving around 2D disciplines including roto/prep, DMP, keying/luma keying, CG integration and illustration/photo bashing. I also explore 3D methods which allow me to speed up my illustration and concepting speed.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB TO START YOUR CAREER WITH?
I envision myself working in post-production as a junior artist focusing on roto/prep and DMP work; I enjoy cleaning up plates and generally composting elements together, including keying plates and compositing them with a new BG. An ideal position for me would be within the preparation stages.

DESCRIBE YOUR DREAM JOB.
My dream job is to become a DMP or an environment and layout artist.
WHAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES?
I’m always looking for new ways of improving my work, reiterating until I’m satisfied in order to move to the next task which can be a struggle as I don’t want to leave my work in an imperfect state.
WOULD YOU RATHER BE A WIZARD, JEDI OR SUPERHERO? AND WHY?
I would love to be a wizard, mainly because I love the fictional side that relates to wizards, growing up I’ve always been a fan of movies like Harry Potter and any movie that has that fantasy style.
WHY DO YOU DESERVE A GREATER SHARE OF SPACE IN THE YEAR BOOK?
“Life is not the amount of breaths you take. It’s the moments that take your breath away.” –Alex Hitchens and Escape Studios have taken my soul and I can never watch a movie again in peace due to over analysing every aspect of the film I’m watching. Because Escape has helped me evolve into a better artist and taught me to think for myself when creating work, learnt to take harsh criticism and be a humble person.
