Hello, my name is Denise Esposito and I am a 2D VFX Artist with a passion for photorealism and seamless paint work. I can’t wait to start working in the industry as a Paint & Roto Artist or Junior Compositor and join a team of talented artists that can turn visions into reality!

GET TO KNOW DENISE

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Curious, versatile, optimistic, intuitive, methodical.

What three things would you take to a desert island and why?

Pizza, tons of books and a volleyball. So I won't miss my favourite food, have something to read and... Wilsooooon!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I hope to become experienced enough to start mentoring other people in the workplace and on platforms such as Access:VFX or AWUK. I’d love to inspire more women to be part of this industry and to keep the conversation going around equality, inclusion and diversity.

Describe a challenge that you had to overcome in your group projects.

Due to an unexpected change of roles within the team of the 3rd year’s group project 'Gnaughy Gnomes', I had to step in as a 2D Lead starting from the second half of production. Supporting the project’s management at that crucial stage was quite a challenging task. Despite being on the edge of failure, we overcame the scheduling issues affecting our group’s morale and we put our strengths together to deliver the project on time. It was a crazy ride but one of the most valuable learning experiences!

Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?

A Jedi. I’ve always been fascinated by these wise galactic protectors. I’m a very spiritual person and I embrace the philosophy behind The Force. Plus, lightsabers are so cool!

If your life was a movie what would it be?

The Matrix. This is all a simulation, isn't it?

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

Being able to find balance between work and study, and finally it was great to meet my classmates in person after almost two years of lockdown!
