I am a 3D Generalist as I enjoy all aspects of 3D, from Modeling to Rendering. Technical problem solving within the 3D side to Visual Effect and Animation is what I enjoy most. Along with being a 3D generalist I also work on sound design and cinematography. Merlin was the series which made me want to work in this industry and still to this day is one of my personal favorites. Outside of work I am an avid mountain biker.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I am big into mountain biking in my spare time, helps me take my time off and clear my head from work. I am also interested in science space. Also enjoy gaming in my spare time.

What makes you unique?

I enjoy self learning, I feel like this has really helped me help my self but also others. I really enjoy helping where I can as much as possible may this be within the field of VFX but also in life as a whole.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully, I'll be in a role in which I enjoy and I can benefit the team around me to the best of my ability.

Describe a challenge that you had to overcome in your group projects.

We had a render issue on "Draw" which I spent three days straight trying to fix, it was an OCIO issue with one of the texture maps which I ended up resolving by re-exporting and replacing the broken map. It was a frustrating issue but it was great when it was resolved.

Which movie inspired you the most to choose this career path?

Merlin. Merlin was the series that I first watched and thought "I'd love to be part of something like this", even to this day I still regard it as one of my personal favourite series.

Describe your favorite animated or VFX sequence.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi lightspeed scene. It's an incredible scene, the moment where the sound dips to almost nothing and then the star destroyer is cut in half. Everything about it from the models, lighting, composition and sound design I think is truly amazing artistry and film making.

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

When I realised that I found something I love and that I am good at.
