Hello! As an aspiring 3D Animator specialising in character animation, I have a keen eye for detail and a vivid imagination. From an early age, I have been drawing my own original cartoon characters as a way to express myself. Whether working solo or within a team, I always make sure to finish the task on time in spite of the obstacles, creatively coming up with various solutions to each problem. I am always eager to refine my craft with diligent practice, dreaming to one day create stories with lovable, diverse characters who viewers can relate to emotionally and visually.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Punctual, hardworking, resilient, imaginative and motivated.

What hobbies do you have?

Designing and creating backstories for original cartoon characters has been a constant in my life thus far. I especially enjoy picturing how they would behave in certain scenarios and add to the plot of various stories, often in the form of a TV series. Watching documentaries and reading short novels is also something I do in my downtime to both relax and broaden my imagination.

What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

My biggest strength would be that I always get the task on time, despite all odds. My weakness is my propensity to being side-tracked. However, when I really put my mind to it, I can overcome said weakness by focussing all my attention on the current task at hand.

Tell us an achievement you're proud of.

In the project titled 'The Beauty of Nature', I served as the Editor. Because of this, I had to be present most of the time, waiting for the group’s updated shots and scenes. I also made the credits scene and the ‘ESC’ logo. In the end, the project won an award for “Best Micro Short” at the Vesuvius International Film Festival in October 2021.

Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?

I would be a Wizard because their powers are the most extensive, allowing for greater versatility. The only real limit to it is one’s imagination. Being able to create whatever I have in mind nigh instantaneously, such as bringing my original characters to life, would be a dream come true.

Which animated movie inspired you the most to choose this career path and why? What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

WALL-E' and 'Zootropolis'. The former was unique in that dialogue was not used much, the plot told mostly through gestures and sounds. This highlighted the power of effective animation to me, as it showed me a good animation did not need to rely on speech to convey a heart-warming, emotional story. The latter involved animating humanoid characters of different animal species, creating a diverse, modern feel. As my own original characters tend towards that theme, it caught my attention and showed me how my own stories could one day grow into with enough time and effort.

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

My frog animation shot was used for one of the group project examples showcased on a highlights video by Escape Studios. This gave me a big sense of accomplishment and validation, whilst also boosting my motivation to keep improving.
