Hello, I'm Lewys. I'm a MArt Visual Effects student specialising in 3D modelling. I'd love to be part of a team creating photorealistic creatures, eventually seeing them come to life on screen. I've always had a love and passion for making things, such as practising various traditional mediums from drawing to modelling. Through my studies at Escape Studios, I took what I enjoyed doing and discovered a whole new passion for digital sculpting and modelling. My goal is to work as a Creature Modeller within the Film, TV, and Advertisement Industry.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Reliable, Supportive, Collaborative, Driven & Friendly.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I would say my main hobbies are practising ZBrush and drawing. I like to keep up to date with the latest technology; I also like learning about history, geography, visiting art galleries and museums in person or virtually, as well as exploring new places.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I'd like to see myself being an established artist, having created creatures for multiple projects in Film, TV or Advertisement that I'm really proud of. I also feel like I'd enjoy passing on knowledge through things like AccessVFX Mentoring, as I've found it so helpful having one.

Describe a challenge that you had to overcome in your group projects.

As director of our project, the biggest challenge I overcame was ensuring I communicated and conveyed my vision in the most straightforward way, all our artists were on the same page, and that we could all see the end goal.

Which movie inspired you the most to choose this career path?

It's not a movie, but the first thing that inspired me was when I was younger watching 'Doctor Who Confidential', a behind the scenes TV show that ran after Doctor Who back in 2005-2011. It opened my eyes to a whole new world that I could work in this industry.

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

Getting the opportunity to meet amazing friends and collaborate throughout my studies.
