My name is Luca Weller-Dawbarn. I am able to use Nuke, Silhouette, AE, PS, 3DE and Unreal. I am passionate about problem solving and creativity which 2D Compositing offers. I would like to start my career in Junior Compositing.

Adaptable, attentive, confident, easygoing, logical.
What three things would you take to a desert island and why?
A wind-up powered torch to see in the dark. A magnifying glass to be able to create fires which will help to stay warm and be able to cook. Distillation Apparatus to separate salt from the seawater to be able to drink safely.
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I am sociable, confident, technical and efficient. My weakness is sometimes I assume someone knows what I am talking about, however, they don't. This has lead me to double check with people when doing an important task that they understand the situation.
Tell us an achievement you're proud of.
Straight after college, I enrolled for a paid Internship competing against University students, in their placement year, and I received the Internship. This role really helped to understand client-based relationship and to meet deadlines. It also helped train me to have multiple tasks on the go to complete and to improve my time management.
Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?
I'd rather be a wizard as I would be able to do so much more than if I was a Jedi/superhero. I'd have the freedom to learn any spell and do virtually anything.
Which movie inspired you the most to choose this career path and why?
Avatar' because it pathed the start of amazing visual effects for films and made me see the potential of visual effects. The visual effects of 'Avatar' still holds up to this day even though it was made in 2008.
What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?
Working as a 2D Artist in the short film 'Shimmer' that received 6 awards which included "Best VFX" at the London International Film Awards, "Best Animated Film" at the Milan Gold Awards, "Best VFX" at the HEI Fest, "Honourable Mention" in the category of "Best First Time Director" at the Art Film Awards, "Best VFX" at the Athens International Film Festival (AIMFF) and
"Best Creative" at the Halicarnassus Film Festival.
