Mason Hilligenn

My name's Mason and I'm passionate about sports and film. After studying VFX at Escape Studios for 3 years, I discovered my love for building 3D CG assets and, in my final year, began to specialise as a Houdini FX Artist. Since making this decision, I have become obsessed with trying new workflows and exploring Houdini's never-ending capabilities. I am now pursuing a career as an FX Artist and hoped to be credited as such on many future films to come.

What makes you unique?

I’m unique because, unlike most VFX artists, I started my creative journey off in fine art.

Junior FX TD.

Having the benchmark second year group project, with only 3 out of 4 3D Artists.

Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?

I’d be a super hero because who doesn’t want to wear a cool costume and be loved by everybody?

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

Finishing my time at Escape having created some amazing work - especially the final 3rd year VFX group project.
