Hi, I'm Miranda and I am a Junior 2D VFX Artist. I am driven by fine art, in particular printing and painting, so I believe the idea of visually layering images brought me to my passion in 2D VFX to make the impossible possible. I would like to start a career in Roto and Prep but, in the near future, a Compositor.

Describe yourself in 5 words.
Firstly, I would describe myself as friendly because I'm very social. Secondly, I would say I am quite creative/artistic with my painting background. Thirdly, I am an organised person where I like to stick to routines and keep on track with what's going on in my life. Additionally, I am tenacious, so I don't like to give up on a task. Lastly, I would say I am a very independent person so I am reliable and keep myself motivated!
What hobbies do you have?
In my spare time I like to go back to my fine art, in particular printing; but I also love to create digital drawings. As well as this I have been going rock climbing in my spare time to give myself a good break away from the computer and keep active!
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
In my opinion, my biggest strength is communication. This is because I think I can express ideas (visually or verbally) or if there are any problems that have arisen. However, I would say my biggest weakness is being a 'perfectionist' so sometimes it is hard for me to stop when I am at a good standard, meaning I could keep going until I am satisfied with the outcome.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years time, I see myself having a strong career in the VFX industry. Perhaps I would be a Compositor in a larger VFX company or being a Senior/Lead in a department. I have always wanted a secure job so that I could also have time to travel. In particular I would love to travel around Asia or Europe.
Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?
Out of all the options, I would definitely rather be a wizard because I would love to be able to conjure, learn spells and just make my life a bit easier!
Describe your favourite VFX sequence.
I think it would be in the most recent Marvel movie, 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'. There is a fight scene with Dr Strange fighting evil Dr Strange with musical notes which I think is very different and unique to what Marvel normally does, but it looked really cool!
What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?
My crowning moment in Escape would have to be being a part of the 'Russell' short film we made in our final year. It took so much hard work from everyone in the team and has gone on to win awards, so I'm very proud of myself and everyone in the team for what we created.
