My name is David Cortés, I am from Barcelona. I have overcome all the obstacles of moving to a new country and find a job and paying for University on my own. I am ready to give 100% on every challenge I face as I have done until now. Currently I work in the Daily Mail as a Motion Graphic Designer and I would like to continue a career in that path. I speak 6 languages so you could say that's my hidden passion, I believe that it's the largest proof I can give as how much of a hard worker I am.

GET TO KNOW DAVID

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Extroverted, hard-worker, passionate, polyglot, creative.

What makes you unique?

I began working when I was 15, since then I have taken care of my own life. Working since such a young age has made me mature faster than others and I have more years of experience dealing with challenges and hard situations in the work place. Throughout my life I have been able to learn several languages which has opened me up the opportunity to work in different countries amongst different cultures, which makes it easier for me to interact with people nowadays.

What three things would you take to a desert island and why?

A big knife, rope and someone else to work with so we can make the escape or survival easier.

What job position would excite you the most to start your career with?

Motion Designer for social media content or commercials.

Tell us an achievement you're proud of.

The hard work I have been putting this year in learning Russian. My girlfriend is Ukrainian so I decided to learn the language last December. The 3rd of March was the day that I set the goal of learning 2000 words by the 3rd of July. I have been working so hard for it and I am still a little behind (900 words so far) but I feel so proud of having the strength to spend 1-2 hours per day on my goal, even in the days I don't have the time to do so. I have a very strong willpower.

Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?

A Wizard, because a Jedi and a Superhero always must do what is right and I like you have to be wrong every once in a while and learn from it.

What video game character best embodies you and why?

Mario, because doesn't matter how many obstacles life sends me, I keep on jumping over them to make it to my goal (Not Princess Peach in my case though).

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

When I did the best presentation in my diorama project, I mixed my skills as a public speaker with adding some music and jokes. I believe all my classmates enjoyed it.
