I am a final year student at Escape Studios and aspiring Character and Creature Artist. I am passionate about character creation, I love sculpting in Zbrush and seeking anatomical accuracy. I think I am a very versatile person, I would like to specialise in realistic characters but I also enjoy working on stylised projects.

GET TO KNOW GIACOMO

Describe yourself in 5 words

Ambitious, Creative, Meticulous, Flexible, Hard-working.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love trying new things and having new experiences. I like travelling, drawing, singing, playing videogames and lately I'm enjoying 3D printing.

What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

I believe that I have a nice critical and artistic eye, I can spot things that don't look good in terms of composition and I pay a lot of attention to details. On the other hand, I think my weakness is that I'm not a big fan of the technical side of things, I appreciate more the artistic one, but this leads me to find unconventinal ways to reach the same result.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I see myself working as a Character Artist in a leading studio in the games industry, as part of a friendly team where my work is appreciated and where I can be proud of the games I will contribute to release.

Would you rather be a wizard, Jedi or superhero? and why?

I would probably be a Wizard. I would master powerful spells to give myself superpowers and a lightsaber.

What video game character best embodies you?

I think that the game that really marked a turning point in the choice of this career has been Horizon Zero Dawn. I remember seeing the trailer back then and being completely fascinated by the concept, the nature, the characters and the creatures. It is one of my favourite games still today.

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

I think my crowning moment has been during the last year, when I completed my specialism. I was really proud of the result and I received many compliments, this made me feel like I have the potential to be really good at what I am doing and make the difference.
