My name is Jamie Pitcher, I am a developing Digital Artist who enjoys playing games and learning how they are created. I am passionate about art, ranging from the production of 3D assets and traditional artwork, like painting, sculpture and illustration. I also enjoy rock climbing and going out for walks with my dog. I would like to start a career as a Props Artist where I can continue to learn from the best and eventually become a Senior in my position.

GET TO KNOW JAMIE

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Creative, Silly, Diligent, Loud, Hardworking.

What hobbies do you have?

Painting, drawing, digital sculpture, rock-climbing, and gaming.

What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

My biggest strengths would be that I am always in the mood to create things and am generally always down to try new things. I am a passionate Artist who has tried to enter the creative industry because I enjoy what I do and want to make sure I enjoy working as much as I enjoy my free time. In regards to my biggest weaknesses, I sometimes suffer from tunnel vision and get so focused on something that I lose sight of other important aspects of my life, this is something I hope to improve in future.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I hope to have become a substantially better Props Artist and perhaps even have moved to a Senior position. Essentially, I hope that by that point I will have continued to learn and can look forward to yet another 5 years of development and personal growth. Well, both that and I hope that I will have gotten a better hairstyle by then.

Would you rather be a wizard, jedi or superhero and why?

I would definitely be a Wizard, mainly because that is basically just a Jedi combined with a Superhero, I'd get all of the perks! Plus spells can get as ridiculous as you want and frankly I'd love to be able to do whatever just because I said the right funny-sounding word.

Which game inspired you the most to choose this career path and why/how?

The games that inspired me the most growing up were the 'Legend of Zelda' games, 'Phantom Hourglass' was the first game I ever completed as a kid, and ever since then, I've loved exploring Hyrule and playing all other types of games.

What was your crowning moment of your time at Escape?

My crowning moment at Escape Studios was probably when I had to make a large dragon asset for a team project and while it took a lot of effort and time, I managed to pull through and make something I was genuinely proud of!
